Safeguarding at Bonneygrove
Bonneygrove Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the physical, mental and emotional welfare of every pupil, both inside and outside of the school premises. We implement a whole-school preventative approach to managing safeguarding concerns, ensuring that the wellbeing of pupils is at the forefront of all action taken. We work closely with all multi-agencies to ensure that children are protected from risk of emotional and physical harm or at risk from neglect. We follow stringent procedures for the recruitment of staff and for visitors entering our school.
The school has a zero-tolerance approach to abuse, including peer-on-peer abuse, as stated in the Child Protection and Safeguarding Policy.
We take student welfare and safety very seriously and take action to reduce all kinds of harm including: abuse, bullying, discrimination and avoidable injuries. We also promote a culture where children and adults feel confident to share their concerns about their own or others’ safety and wellbeing.
All Bonneygrove Primary School staff receive regular safeguarding training, and we continue to ensure that our staff, governors, parents/carers and students work together to keep children safe. We take account of the information contained in the DfE documents 'Working Together to Safeguard Children' and 'Keep Children Safe in Education: Statutory Guidance for Schools and Colleges' (September 2021) as the safety and protection of children is of paramount importance to everyone in this school and we work hard to create a culture of awareness.
