Governors
An effective Governing Body is a source of enormous strength to the school and has an increasingly important role in helping to deal with major issues such as the expansion of knowledge and resource, ensuring that the school functions as an effective organisation and provides high quality education to our children.
School Governing Bodies reflect the diversity of the local community and are made up of members of the community, including parents, staff and teachers. Becoming a School Governor is an excellent way of helping children to achieve the best education they can.
The Governing Body has a wide range of duties in the management of the school including:
- Ensuring a safe and secure environment for learning.
- Agreeing school policy
- Monitoring the budget
- Making appointments and dealing with staff matters
- Overseeing the curriculum
