SEND Offer at Bonneygrove and Millbrook Primary Federation.
Meet our Head of Inclusion
Miss Hayley Stevens
The SEND Local Offer is guided by the SEND Code of Practice (2015), embodying our commitment at Bonneygrove and Millbrook Primary Federation to the belief that every child with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) deserves an accessible education that empowers them to thrive. We hold the vision that education should be purposeful, progressive, and intricately tailored to meet the individual needs of each child.
Quality first teaching is our foundation in nurturing pupils with SEND. Our dedicated teachers plan each lesson thoughtfully, ensuring that every child's unique needs are recognised and catered to. Reasonable adjustments are carefully crafted and documented within the children's Learning Plans, reinforcing our commitment to personalised education. Children may engage in the same task, yet each is guided toward different outcomes, or they may learn the same skill at varied levels, allowing everyone to shine.
With a wide range of teaching strategies, our educators create a vibrant, inclusive environment where every child can flourish. For those requiring extra support, small group settings or individualised one-to-one attention from our Teachers, Teaching Assistants or Learning Support Assistants, ensuring that each child can achieve their potential.
All children on the SEND register have a personalised Learning Plan that highlights their strengths, interests, and reasonable adjustments. These plans, filled with SMART targets, are revisited each term, fostering meaningful discussions between parents, children, and teachers. Together, we reflect on progress, celebrating victories and addressing challenges with enthusiasm.
When progress is limited despite the support of their Learning Plan, our Inclusion Manager may recommend engaging external professionals. Throughout this journey, we ensure that parents and carers are entirely involved, creating a partnership that uplifts each child’s educational experience. Our unwavering commitment to an inclusive and inspiring educational environment drives us to adapt and refine our approaches, ensuring every student feels valued and empowered to reach their fullest potential.
